Matheus's Journey
One day while playing soccer, the sport he loves, he fell and injured a muscle that connects to his sciatica. After not getting better for a week, the pain continued, and he was taken to the emergency room where he was treated and medicated by the emergency room doctor. After several visits to the emergency room for sciatica pain, one day he began to bleed continuously. He was taken back to the emergency room, where they ran numerous tests and gave him the diagnosis of Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Matheus is now going through another round of leukemia after being told that the prior treatment if continued only gave him a 5% chance of working.
