Jenna's Journey
Jenna started feeling bad in March of last year, while in Pre-K. Her doctor diagnosed her with strep and she took the recommended meds. She still wasn’t doing much better and her color began to change. First she turned a yellowish color and finally was completely pale, down to her gums. I took her to Arkansas Children’s Hospital where she was diagnosed on 4/4/24. Treatments began on 4/5 and at the 29 day mark she was in remission. It was very difficult and scary. She has had several hospital stays with the worst one being fourteen days. We found out she cannot tolerate methotrexate very well, so has to have smaller doses. We have cried together and cried out to Jesus. If it wasn’t for our family, friends, and prayer warriors, Jenna may not be where she is today.
She just entered the maintenance phase and we continue to pray that this disease will be eradicated from her body.
