Jaden's Journey
On April 28th, we went for a routine check-up. Since Jayden had been more pale recently, had a suppressed appetite, and more fatigue, I requested the doctor’s office to do some bloodwork. I thought maybe something was off or his iron was low. I never thought that we would get the devastating news that he was showing signs of leukemia. The next day, we had to drive down to the children’s hospital to get further testing done to confirm things. On May 1st, Jayden was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia). With his condition, we are in the hospital for a month at a time for his treatment. After his counts come back up, we are able to go home for about a week and then we have to go back to the hospital for more treatments.
