Natalia's Story

In August 2013 Natalia was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Ewings Sarcoma. She underwent 1 year of chemotherapy and one month of radiation. In July 2014 she was considered to be cancer free.

Unfortunately, the effects of the cancer and the harsh treatments she received are still resonating today. She has had infection after infection in her kidneys. One hospitalization was because her body was resistant to the antibiotics. Two years ago, in 2015, she was diagnosed with osteoporosis. She is worse now. She gets a ton of infections, due to her immune system being compromised.

She has anxiety disorder and PTSD, and lives in chronic bone pain. If she rides a bike for three to five minutes, she is in excruciating pain after. She usually can't walk. Most of the time she can't sleep at night because of the pain. She has had her original hardware spontaneously collapse causing her to have emergency surgery on her cancer leg with a bone graft. She has had corrective surgery of the opposite leg to slow down the growth in that leg to hopefully even the length of her legs. Since there is a discrepancy, she is being fitted for a shoe lift.

She is currently recovering from one of those surgeries right now. It has been very painful. She has a ton of specialists she sees. Thank you for this opportunity.
