Jackson's Story
Jackson was born 2 months early and spent his first month in the NICU. Other than that slow start to life, he was a healthy baby and toddler. In September 2016 he developed lumps on either side of his neck. It took us a month to get a diagnosis. Finally after a ton of doctor appointments we were given an answer ... Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. This was nothing that we expected.
Lymphoblastic Lymphoma is an aggressive form of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. It is relatively rare and usually affects children and teenagers. It is treated with chemotherapy, radiation, and sometimes a stem cell transplant.
Since October Jackson has been inpatient more than 70 days. He had a blood infection that kept him hospitalized last Christmas. He has received more than 20 units of blood products so far.
"Thank you all so much for Jackson's beautiful quilt!!"
