Emily's Story

Emily was born early at 29 weeks weighing a whooping 2 lbs. 4oz. She spent 67 days in the NICU. She suffered massive brain damage at birth changing our lives completely. Little did I know at the time she was going to pull our small family even closer together and show us what true love is all about.

Over the years Emily was diagnosed with sever pvl (brain damage), chronic lung disease, global developmental delay, cvi, sever spastic quad cerebral palsy with dystonia, and most recently epilepsy. A lot of her diagnoses stem from the brain damage that occurred at birth. She does physical, occupational, vision and speech therapy every week. She wears splints for her hands, elbows, feet, hips and a neck collar when traveling. She sees many many specialists.

Despite everything Miss Emily has been through, she smiles through it all. She is just the happiest kid in the world. Her favorite things are lights and music, and we decorate her room with bees. We still face a long journey ahead of us, but I know Emily has the spirit to conquer her battles with a smile. We will be with her every step of the way to help her through.
"The quilt is absolutely beautiful and so perfect. Thank you so much for doing this for Emily."
