Brentton's Story

In May 2018 I began noticing paleness and weakness in Brentton. I took him to the doctor, and his blood counts were very low. He was diagnosed with Pancytopenia with fever.

On August 8, 2018 his life changed, He got very sick, his blood count was 0.2. Brentton had a brain bleed, and had to have 4 blood transfusions. They decided to do a Multiple Viral Infections test which all came back negative. A bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture, as well as a spinal tap were done. The diagnosis was Acute Leukemia ... or ALL. He was 3 years old.

We do chemotherapy every day at home, and he's had to get a spinal tap every 8 days. The chemotherapy will last for 3 years. Sometimes he can't have chemotherapy because his white blood counts are too low. Brentton is not able to attend school. I am a stay at home mom now so i can take care of him. ALL has affected his physical ability to walk, play, and eat, and his emotional needs as well.

This illness has affected the entire family. Especially his 6-year-old brother.  My Baby is my world. I feel so numb everyday, but Brentton is a fighter. I'm fighting this with him.
